This short hike from the characteristic village of Saint-Montan begins in the shade and fresh air along the Ellieux stream and then offers you a beautiful view of the Conche valley before you hike back on the GR 42.

Description

Leave from the hiking information sign in the post office car park, cross the road and go down to the Place Poullalé car park just below (unless you have parked there).Leave from the hiking information sign located in the post office car park, cross the road and go down to the Place Poullalé car park just below (unless you have parked there). Cross the small submersible bridge and take the small road to the left (there are no hiking signs).
After crossing a bridge, turn right. Continue along this narrow road, turning right at the first junction (2) and left at the junction 0.5 km beyond the submersible bridge.
At the hiking signpost, take a 180° turn to the right, still on the road. The signs will guide you from here to stay on the road until you return to the village.
At the end of the descent, leave the signposting and follow the signposting to the right, cross the small bridge and after the next bridge turn right and then right again over the square to get back to the start. But before you do, don't hesitate to visit the village and have a bite to eat.

Recommandations

To round off this hike, take a stroll through the narrow streets of the old village and climb up to the castle.
Possible with a pushchair or wheelchair, provided that the slopes in some places are taken into account.

Access and parking

From Aubenas or Montélimar, take the D86 and at Montmale, take the D262 towards Saint-Montan.
From Vallon-Pont-d'Arc, take the D4 towards Saint-Remèze, then the D262 towards Larnas / Saint-Montan and take the small road to the Gorges de la Sainte-Baume (note that this road is one-way during the summer; refer to the road signs)
From Saint-Martin-d'Ardèche, join the D86 then go through Saint-Just-d'Ardèche; go around Bourg-Saint-Andéol, and at the roundabout at the end of the bypass, take the 2nd exit then the 1st road on the right: D190 to Saint-Montan.
